Scope and Content

The Youngstown Sheet & Tube Company prided itself in providing extracurricular activities for its employees through sports, family outtings, and entertainment programs. This collection entails the entertainment aspects of the company's social programs, which included a variety of musical, dramatic, and comedic presentations. Much of the material in the collection reflects the period of the performances, including the social and racial mores of the times.

Provenance

The initial items in this collection were donated to Ohio Historical Society on August 30, 1995 by Mrs. Ruth Callahan through her brother, Richard Groucutt. Randall Gooden processed the collection in 1995. The Ohio Historical Society owns the property rights to the collection, but the copyrights to the material remains with Youngstown Sheet & Tube Company's successor, LTV Corporation. Photocopying of material is restricted to library use and incidental, academic use. Otherwise, this collection is open under the rules and regulations of Ohio Historical Society and the Youngstown Historical Center of Industry and Labor's Archives-Library.
