Scope and Content

The Edward F. McNutt Collection contains materials relating to the employment of Edward F. McNutt, mechanical engineer with the United Engineering and Foundry company during the 1920s and 1930s. United Engineering and Foundry was one of the largest machine making firms in the Mahoning Valley.

This collection includes a patent receipt and related letter; original drawings and descriptions of devices, machines, and gears; photographs; and miscellaneous materials.

Provenance

The Ohio Historical Society acquired the Edward F. McNutt Collection in 1989. Timothy A. Seman processed the collection in 1995. The Ohio Historical Society owns the property rights of the collection. What rights the donor possessed in this collection have been dedicated to the public. Consideration of all other copyrights is the responsibility of the author and publisher. This collection is open under the rules and regulations of the Ohio Historical Society. Researchers are requested to cite the collection name, collection number, the Youngstown Historical Center of Industry and Labor, and the Ohio Historical Society in all footnotes and bibliographic references.
