Series Title: Beer, Wine, and Mixed Beverage Label Information files, 1940-1986
Description: The beer and wine division maintained files concerning state approval of labels affixed to containers of beer, wine, or mixed beverages sold in Ohio. The files include: completed applications for approval of labels; correspondence concerning label approval; product formula lists and analysis reports. Also included are: health certificates of vineyard employees; applications for consent to import alcoholic beverages; lists of wholesalers of alcoholic beverages in Ohio; brand, strip, neck and back wine and mixed beverage labels; beer can flats and caps; and photographs. A separate category of wine and mixed beverage labels, entitled miscellaneous, concern the renewal of licenses or changes in distributors, and contain withdrawn or cancelled licenses, and correspondence.
Files are arranged by subject and then in alphabetical order by distributor. Federal label information, oversize posters, and wine boxes were removed.
