Series Title: Requisition case files, 1932-(1982-1989)
Description: The legal staff maintained requisition files as part of the statutory responsibilities of the governor's office. Requisitions are warrants seeking the return of accused or convicted felons from other states to Ohio. The case files contain correspondence and arrest warrants from Ohio county prosecutors sent to the governor of Ohio listing the accused or convicted felon's name, his or her location, and the crime. The files also include copies of letters signed by the governor of Ohio sent to governors of other states requesting the extradition of accused or convicted felons, copies of the requisition warrants, and letters from the governor of Ohio to the Ohio county prosecutors noting what actions have been taken.
30 cu. ft. The requisition case files are divided first by year, and then are arranged alphabetically. The files include scattered requisition requests from 1932.
