Series Title: Constituent correspondence files, 1984-1990
Description: The legislative staff maintained constituent correspondence files for the governor's office as part of its assigned responsibilities. The files include letters from Ohio citizens expressing their support for, or opposition to, Governor Celeste's programs, and legislation before the Ohio General Assembly. The files also contain requests for the governor's photograph, biography, and lists of favorite foods and recipes. Some of the subjects mentioned in the correspondence include: acid rain; abortion; public utility construction-work-in-progress charges; day care; unemployment; welfare benefits and reform; health care; liability insurance; and tort reforms. Also included is a State Opinion Ballot, a privately sponsored public opinion poll. The poll pertains to the issue of universal health care.
