Series Title: General files, 1983-1990
Description: The legislative office staff maintained general files that they divided into three sections: subject files; state legislator, and United States representatives and senators correspondence files; and state agency files. Records in the subject files consist of reports and other information material, and correspondence. The subject files were used by the legislative office staff to be informed on issues before the General Assembly or the U.S.Congress including such issues as: acid rain; Ohio statehouse and capitol square renovation; health care; public utility construction-work-in progress charges; energy conservation; and the State of Ohio's local government fund. The subject files also include copies of interoffice memoranda drafted by the heads of the legislative office and Governor Celeste that relate to these issues and others. The correspondence files reveal the staff's work with members of the Ohio General Assembly and the U.S. Congress concerning Ohio and federal legislation, or state and federal programs in congressional or legislative districts. The state agency files contain correspondence and news clippings involving specific Ohio legislation and state agency programs. Records contained in the files show the legislative office's participation with agency officials in seeking adoption of legislation affecting state agencies or state programs.

The subject files section only cover the years, 1987 to 1991, and subjects A to L. The correspondence and state agency files sections only include the years, 1983 and 1984.
