Series Title: Record of notes in circulation, l845-65
Description: The Board of Control recorded notes delivered for circulation to each branch bank on a written order. Orders were recorded along with an accurate account of the notes delivered, the amount of the notes, and the date of delivery. Notes that were worn, defaced, or mutilated, also would be returned to the Board of Control, and an equal amount of new notes issued. The records list: the dates; the names of engravers; the bank branch; the number of sheets; the number of denominations; and the total dollar amount of notes delivered, and a listing of mutilated notes destroyed.
3 vol. The volumes are arranged chronologically. Volume 3 also contains an alphabetical listing, by branch bank, for notes in
circulation.
