German Village Society and WBNS 10TV
Columbus
A new video narrated by 10TV anchor Andrea Cambern, who lives in German Village, showcases its
history and architecture, the volunteerism that’s been key to the German Village Society’s success,
and the work involved in becoming one of the city’s most treasured neighborhoods.
The 10-minute video took four months to produce. It covers the story of German immigration, the
social and cultural history of German Village, and the community’s role in rehabilitating this
historic neighborhood. John Clark, another German Village resident, co-authored the script with German
Village Society Executive Director Katharine Moore.
Society members checked facts, WBNS 10TV located archival footage, Andrea Cambern emceed, and 10TV
produced the video. As caretaker of one of Ohio’s premier tourist destinations, the non-profit German Village Society welcomes thousands of
visitors, residents, and students of history who stop by the society’s Visitor Center in the German
Village Meeting Haus on South Third Street for information.
The society is committed to providing quality educational programs, materials, and events to ensure
a meaningful and memorable experience for all.
