McARTHUR TO WORTHINGTON Fruit hill June 9th 1813 Dear Sir, If an oppertunity offers, I wish you would call on the secretary of war and make him acquainted with the substance of the enclosed. I am very much out of patience with the recruiting officers, about their reports and I fear the officers of the war department are so with me. the want of Clothing has been a great hindrance and I fear we will not be able to raise the two Regts. in this state, in time for the first Campaign. would it not be well to re- vive the 12-montls volunteer law. I still think volunteers could be raised in ohio, but perhaps not for so long a time as 12 months. yours Duncan McArthur Genl Worthington 194 |
