D. C. COOPER TO WORTHINGTON Bedford Octr. 27th 1812 Dr Sir I have sent on proposals to the Secy. of War for furnishing the troops in that district of Country including Detroit which you were good enough last winter to have devided at my request Any information which you will give him as to my advantages situation as to furnishing the provisions that may be wanted in an emergency And should provisions be wanted immediately in consequence of the present Contractor failing. I will proceed immediately. I have the means at my command. your perticular attention to this peace of business for me will be greatfully acknow- ledged. The day on which you convene is the day the contract is to be closed, and I have reason to believe there has a Number gone on from Cincinnati, for the purpose of getting it.
