EUSTIS TO WORTHINGTON War Dept Sir Your proposition for establishing a post between chilicothe and Detroit has been further considered and as the Post Office Dept. is not authorized to establish such mail, I have to request your kind attention to this subject, and submitting the whole arrangement to your perfect knowledge of the country, solicit you to make the necessary provision and establish a post either to meet the regular mail for Detroit at the rapids of the miami or to be continued through to Detroit, as you may find most convenient All expences necessarily incurred by you in this business will be paid by this Dept, until other arr- angements are ordered Respectfully sir, I remain your obt.
