JAMES MANARY TO WORTHINGTON

Fort Manary July 4th 1812

Honerable Sir

I would Just supect to you that I am at a considerable loss for officers in my Company. Capt Perys has Marched his company to vincenes to Join Colo Russell and I have to range from Scioto to greenville I think that government ought to give us our quoto of officers as it is very difficult to proceed as we are. I wrote to you some time since the persons that we wishd to be appointed perhaps you have not got them I will Just mention there Names for 1st Leut James Manary for Ensign John McCullough. I hope that you will try to have them appointed as the will please the company. the declaration of war has reached us I do expect warm times.
