PERRY TO WORTHINGTON Picqua Perry Block house June the 17th 1812 Dear Sir After my compliments to you I will Inform you that Lieutenant Samuel McCormack, has left our Company on the 28th of May & Joined the new Army under Governor Hull as an Adjutant in Colo Findlay Regimant and Marched for Detroit, As a matter of Course thier will be a vacancy to be filled. I hope you will use your Influence to have John Hopkins 2d Lieut promoted to first -- and Ensign Flinn To 2d Lieutenant & John Knox, our first Sergent, to that of an Ensigncy I have taken the opinion of the Company and the Voice is unanimous -- it is Equally so with all the officers -- For Heavens sake do not send us any all if you cannot get [illeg.] appointed -- our companys are in peace -- and All our officers both Commissioned & Non Commissioned Unanimous & agreeable -- Their is no News of importance the Indians appear peaceble all but those that sometimes come from the prophets Town -- but the inhabitants are still very much alarmed -- and a great deal of uneasyness prevails amongst them for feare we will be called away to the Wabash -- Governor Hull Marched from Urbanna on Monday last -- My Best respects to Mr. Morrow & I hope will use his Influence for the promotion of Lieutenant Hopkins, Flinn & Knox -- I am sir with sentiments of Respect your Friend & obt Humble Servant Wm Perry Capt The Honbl Tho.
