BENJAMIN HOUGH TO WORTHINGTON

Zanesville January 1st. 1812

Dear Sir

I received yours of the 21st Ult. enclosing the treasurers receipt in favour of Isaac Vanhorn, for fifty dollars -- I have already wrote to you on the subject of redeeming Dixon Marshals land, and Genl Blounts tax & which you have probably received before this time -

I am truly pleased to find that Congress are taking a firm stand in opposition to British outrage, and perfidy & am in hopes that until Britain will respect our rights as an independent nation, and humble themselves so far as to acknowledge the injustice done; and make ample reparation for all the insults and injuries sustained, that we shall continue to treat them as our worst enemies --

The resolutions addressed to the General Government by the legislature of Pensylvania, meets my approbation fully -I think that is the most patriotic, and descided of any which I have yett seen on the subject

In great hast I remain yours &c

Benj. Hough

Genl. Thomas Worthington
