I received yours by Express this Evening Six Oclock, the Express having mistaken the rout of the Kentucky anny went on to its rendez- vous and followed, overtaking me in the front twenty two miles from Cincinnati -- Be assured Sir that no exertions shall be omitted to facilitate the movements of the Army under my command -- I am in confident expectation that the force I command will open the communication to Genl Hulls Armny -- I will take the liberty to Suggest to your Excellency the Vast Importance of having Forage a Provisions plentifully thrown out to your frontiers, Your Excellency may calculate for near 2,000 Kentucky Volunteers --
