We ha ve been heir seince Day before yesterday. my object was to go on to Uper Sanduskey to protect the Crane - but I understand he evacuated that place to Days ago the Cranes flight has much alarmed the fronteer Inhabitance -- the Troop from Delawar County insist on going on to Uper Sandusky -- and erect a garison there your opinion on that subject I expect the arms you sent me will be here this Day and will be our main security but the arms you let Messrs Kilbourne & butler have I fear will not be of much service -- as I understand they are to be disposed of as these Gentlemean improper -- thees men without publick responsebellity are made the judges how the public arms are to be made us of -- in 2 Days I expect at least 120 men here without armes -- the 100 Stand you sent me will all be disposed of before their arrival -- if you would be so good as to send an order over to those Gentlemen directing them to give up the arms to me for the public use -- and take my recpt. for the same the arms could then be brought into seervice imediately -- but if they are to undergo the delay of being disposed of agreeable to the Caprice or Whim of individuals little good can be expected -- there is now in Delawar Town a company from fairfield County Commanded by Capt Cutwright all armed with new muskets -- they will not sarve me with accts. Your direction they say they were to join some Troops from Urbana if you prefer they should sarve us you will please to direct -- if you have recd. any money please send us some to us by the berer Mr [illeg.]
