OSL LYNCH TO MEIGS Lancaster August 23d 1812 Govr. Meigs Sir Your of the 20th Instant was duly received by express I found it necessary before I could give the wished for information to send an express to Genl. V. Horn he has this moment returned and by him I have received orders to have my men at Deleware on (29th) twenty ninth (Inst) Genl. V Horn mentions that the men had not all collected at Zanesville that were ordered to rendevous there but he beleive they will be at Deleware by the 29th. -- the troops from this place tho the notice has been short will assuredly be there by that time if any exortions of mine can possibly accomplish it -- Lieutenant V. Horn is lying sick with the Billious Fever, at home unable to leave his bed -- Genl. V Horn has he writes me engaged with Hanecar[?] and another to furnish provision to the Detachment from this part of the State and I shall endeavour to furnish a few tents if possible he also write that he fears there will be a deficien- cy in arms and tho but (66) sixty six men including officers are ordered to march from this Brigade yet I shall fearful of a deficiency send the 75 Stand in my possession to Deleware with the hope that it be beneficial to the service and meet the approbation of my superiors I am sir with sentiments of respect Your Hum.
