Major Connel informs me that the Cavalry are of no benefit to him - and indeed it would appear to be the wish of the Detachment to join General Harrison for more active duty -- If you should be of opinion that they could be dispensed with, at the post they now Occupy in order to that effect, I think, would be in accordance with their wishes and may aid in expidition to the Lakes Mr. Buckingham & my Self furnished Major Connels detachment with Blankets &c for which we should be glad to get a draught on the Secrety at War -- the accounts are herewith forwarded.
