OSL WADSWORTH TO MEIGS Head Quarters Cleveland Sept 8th. 1812- Major More goes on this morning to Urbana he is so recently from Malden & will give you so full & particular information of affairs in that quarter that it is unnecessary to detail it in this letter. Genl Perkins is at Huron river with 400 men erecting blockhouses & Genl. Beall having volunteered his services I have given him the command of the troops from my first & second Brigade with orders to proceed to Mansfield in Richland County, he has about 600 men with him & will protect the frontiers from the Reserve to the line of Delaware county unless a much [torn] force of the enemy should compel him to retire -- I am endeavoring to collect provisions, camp equipage and munitions of war for my whole force the men in camp here are so badly armed that it would be useless to march them to the frontiers but I am in daily expectation that the U States government will direct a supply -- it is almost impossible to organize & keep together a force without money & I must press upon your Excellency the absolute necessity of forwarding me a supply for I have been obliged to expend almost every cent at my command Very respectfully I remain Your Obedient servt.
