OSL WADSWORTH TO MEIGS Canfield 27th. April 1812 Sir I received Your Excellencys Orders last Evening, of the 5th instant, for raising three companies of Men, I have this day forwarded my orders by expresses, to the several Briga[dier] Generals, to have your orders put into Execution Immediately. the long delay from the date of Your orders to the time they arived here, is to me unacountable, eexcepting one day. Your directions to me, at Youngs Town instead of Canfield. Majr. Todd was good enough to forward them to me the next day after they arrived at that place -- I am Sir Your Excellencys Obedient Servant Elijah Wadsworth |
