I arrived at this place last evening in tolerable health -- The orders to the comt of the Upper Brigade (late Pauls) I sent by Capt McCune to Col Van Horn to be forwarded by him by Express -- I also sent by Capt McCune Genl McConnels orders -- I gave to Gen Lynch his orders in passing through Lancaster, & to Col Dorr(?), as I cam through Athens From Athens I sent Col Mann his orders by Express -- As your order did not express the exact number of (illeg.) you required, but stated "one compleat Regiment," I have made the following detail from the Division, taking iuto view sections of the Division, where a liberal Volunteering had taken place --

Genl. Paul Brigade 4 Companies each to consist of one Capt 1 Lieut. One Ens. 4 Sergs. 4. Corpls. 1 Dr. & fife 65 Privates. Total . . 312 Gen. McConnel 3 Compleat companies & 1 Lieut. 1. Serg. 1. Cor. 25. ps. 262 Genl Lynch 3 compleat Comps. 1. Lieut. 1. Serg. 1, Corpl. 20 ps. 257. Washington. 1 Capt 1. Ensn. 3 Serjs. 3 Corps. 40. ps. 1. dr & fife 50 Athens. 1 Ens. 1. Serjt. 1 Cor 15. ps. 18 Gallia. 1. Capt 1 Ens. 3. Serg. 3 Cor. 1. dr & fife 25. ps. 35

From Gen McConnels & the Brigade lately commanded by Paul, the Men are to Assemble at Zanesville as soon as possible. those from Washington join them. The Men from Gallia join those at Athens & proceed to Lancaster to join those of Gen Lynch -- I shall leave this place on Sunday next for Zanesville -- where I shall put the Men under constant drill till I have further instructions from you -- I shall also send some person to super- intend the drill at Lancaster

I have deemed it my duty to give you the earliest notice of this arrangement, that in case you find any thing in it improper, or that Gen Harrison will have no use for the force,that it may be disbanded or any part of it, in case too great a proportion (illeg. 2 words.) of which I fancy there can be nothing to fear --
