To the Honble the Commander in chief of the ohio Militia

The undersigned petitioners Citizens and inhabitants of the County of Richland respectfully represent to your Consideration the Situation we Shall be in this Spring with respect to the Savage Enemies of our Country we feel verry much alarmed at the approaching Season and in Case we do not get Some assistance from government we shall be under the Necessity of Moving our families of of the frontier, we think that one or two Companies Stationed as Rangers along the borders of our County will be a Sufficient force for to gard our families from the Indians for in duty bound we Shall Ever pray &c March 1st 1813
