OSL REASIN BEALL TO MEIGS New Lisbon Decemr. 31st. 1812 His Excellency Governor Meigs. Sir In consequence of my arrest, all the papers relating to the Detach- ment excepting those transmitted to General Wadswrorth, were delivered to the officer of my Brigade who succeeded in the Command -- I have written to Camp for them, and as soon as they arrive, I will forward to your Excellency the Muster and pay rolls, -- required, without delay -- I wish to know of your Excellency, if the Pay Rolls are to include those only who have been discharged, or must they comprise those also who have een reported to General Harrison, and are at this time in the Service of the United States - As it respects the receipt Rolls; not having recd. one Cent of Public money applicable to the service I am at a loss to compre- hend your Excellency's object in this particular -- I shall therefore be much obliged if you will be so good as to advise me on the subject. -- A form of the Pay & Receipt rolls will be very acceptable, if I have none in my possession, neither do I know where I could get them. - Very respectfully I have the honor to be your Excellencys obt.
