OSL GEORGE ADAMS TO MEIGS

Lorimies Sunday Morning August

30th 1812

Sir

I have Considered that it may be prudent and proper to Continue our march to St. Maries and there to build a blockhouse but I am perfectly Convinced that it will not be safe to proced further until a reinforce- ment Comes on -- it has been with that impression -- that many of the men has agreed to go dn -- and unless we git a reinforcement it will be rash and hazardous to proceed with the army we shall march in a few minutes

I am Sincerely yours friend and Huml Servt. --

George Adams
Lieut. Comdt.

R. J. Meigs Com
in Chief of Ohio
