Date this 2d. of December 1790. Copies of the foregoing Records have been transmitted to the President of the United States. February the 12th. 1791 Governour St. Clair absent from the Territory; a Letter was addressed by the Secretary to the County Lieutenants of Washington Alleghaney Westmoreland and Fayette Counties of Pennsyl- vania requesting to be informed what previous No- tice would be necessary to enable them to turn out and put in motion a Body of Militia not exceeding two hundred Men from Washington, one hundred from Alleghaney two hundred from Westmoreland and an equal Number from Fay- ette Counties for the Defence of our Frontiers - Also a Letter to Governour Miflin inclosing a Copy of the one to the County Lieutenants and desiring that he would be pleased to order the proper Ar- rangements for obtaining five hundred Men from the aforesaid Counties well armed & appointed in Case it should be found necessary to demand them -- A Copy of the Letter to the County Lieutenants was also transmitted to the Secretary at War. March the 5th By the Secretary: - A Letter was addressed to Col Marshal Commandant of Militia in the County of Washington and State of Pennsylvania, transmitting Information of three War Parties on their Way to the |
