1. Museum Shop (Tuesday - Sunday) Help with sales in the shop at the Historical Center. 2. Computer Database and word-processing Volunteers (Mondays-Fridays) These volunteers assist in various departments, such as Personnel, membership and Registrar's office. 3. Collection Facilities Volunteers Historical Collections (Thursday mornings) Work includes cataloging and preservation of Ohio Historical Society historical collection objects. Archaeology Collections (Tuesday or Saturday mornings) Work includes cataloging and preservation of archaeological collection objects. Discover Archaeology (Monday - Friday) Helping school children with a hands-on simulated archaeology dig program 4. Art & Design Volunteers (Fridays) Work includes assisting in exhibit work. Volunteers help create objects for Ohio Historical Society museum exhibits. 5. Library/Archives Research Volunteers (Tuesdays -Saturdays) Assist with patron information requests, such as genealogy research or school children research questions. 6. Membership Volunteers (Mondays- Fridays) Assist with the Society's membership efforts. 7. Historic Preservation Office Volunteers (Monday- Friday) Assist with programs with the state's historic preservation office. Work on cataloging library materials, scanning, data entry and filing. 8. Interpretative Programs (Tuesday - Sunday) Assist staff with hands-on activities, school and group tours, special events and talking to visitors. In some areas volunteer might need to provide their own historic costume. Some volunteers needed to greet and assist visitors. 9. Base Ball (Wednesday- Sunday) Assist staff in the vintage baseball program. Volunteers must provide their own historic costume.
